Description
Financing CPBs: which models can secure the development of biomethane?
The rollout of Biogas Production Certificates (CPBs) opens up new opportunities for the biomethane sector, while raising a central question: how can projects be sustainably financed in this new context?
As biomethane production is set to scale up significantly in the coming years, building robust and credible business models is becoming a major challenge for project developers, financiers, and public stakeholders alike. Long-term visibility, investor attractiveness, the role of equity, bank involvement, and alignment with other support schemes are all key issues at the heart of current discussions.
This conference will draw on the in-depth work carried out by Laurence Hedel Grillere as part of her financing mission for ADEME, conducted at the request of public authorities. Her analysis highlights the levers that can be mobilized to support the scale-up of biomethane without increasing the burden on public finances, as well as the conditions required to reassure investors and improve the clarity of the economic framework.
Alongside Laurence Hedel Grillere, Anthony Kerihuel (S3D) will provide an operational and financial perspective, sharing the expectations and constraints faced by field stakeholders dealing with the concrete implementation of CPBs and the search for financing.
Aimed at project developers, operators, financiers, local authorities, and decision-makers, this conference will offer a clear and pragmatic overview of the challenges surrounding CPB financing, along with practical avenues for building robust and attractive financial models.
A must-attend session to understand, anticipate, and secure the financing of contracts under CPBs or feed-in tariffs.
