A look back at the Néostock project: innovative methods for sequestering bioCO2 from the methanization sector

Description
Carbon Impact has developed the BioCO2 Nancy project, which involves sequestering 10,000 tons of biogenic CO2 from three methanization units near Nancy in order to generate negative emissions carbon credits using the BECCS method. One of the obstacles to the project is the lack of geological storage infrastructure near the units. A study has established that capacity is widely available locally through conventional or more innovative means. The NéoStock project, in partnership with Eosys and the University of Lorraine and co-financed by GRDF, consists of studying the potential of innovative methods of geological CO2 sequestration applicable in Lorraine for BECCS projects from methanization units such as Bio CO2 Nancy.
