Biogas in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes: coordinated mobilization, impressive results, benchmark experience

Since 2018, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region has been mobilizing key players in the sector with the Ambition Biogas 2028 Charter, led by Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Energie Environnement. In 2025, the first TWh of biogas announced by GRDF will be achieved, proving the success of this initiative. There are many exemplary projects, both in terms of regional methanization with Bio Energies Beaujolaises, supported by a local authority, and in terms of the transition from cogeneration to injection with the Méthagora project.
